Protection & insurance
Life cover, income protection, critical illness, family income benefit, and buildings and contents. Sized realistically to what you'd actually need – nothing more.
What we look at
Protection sits next to the mortgage, not in a separate sales conversation. The question is what would happen to the repayments, and to the people who rely on your income, if you could not pay them.
Life insurance
A lump sum if you die during the term, often set against the mortgage so the loan can be repaid – subject to the policy terms and underwriting.
Family income benefit
A regular income for the people who depend on you, rather than one lump sum, where the policy pays out.
Critical illness cover
A lump sum if you are diagnosed with a condition the policy defines – not every illness is covered.
Income protection
A monthly amount if illness or injury stops you working, within the policy's definition, waiting period and benefit limits.
Buildings and contents
Cover for the property itself and what is in it. Buildings insurance is usually required from exchange. Where we discuss general insurance, we will confirm whether we advise on it directly or refer you, before you decide.
Life insurance, critical illness cover and income protection are regulated. If anything we discuss falls outside our permissions, we tell you in writing before you decide.
How we help
We start from the mortgage and the household, not from a target amount of cover. What you already have, what the new loan adds, and who would be affected if your income stopped. The recommendation is written down, in the same plain language as the mortgage advice, and one adviser stays with you from that conversation through to completion.
We do not dress the cover up. If what you already have is enough, we say so.
There is no fee for protection advice.
When you are ready, the fact-find is the quickest way to tell us about your situation – we will come back with sensible next steps and no obligation.
